Camp Canby 2011

CAMP INFORMATION

WHO: Boys and Girls entering grades 4 through 7
WHEN: Monday morning, Aug. 15 through Thursday noon, Aug. 18
WHERE: Canby Grove Retreat Center, 7501 Knight’s Bridge Road

WHAT: Fun and fellowship:  Ministry of the Word, singing, cabins, campfire, crafts, family style meals, fishing, games, trails, basketball, volleyball, play fields, swimming, ping pong, foosball, and much more!
COST: $140.00          Checks Payable to “Church in Bellevue”
TRANSPORTATION: We will drive vans to camp.  Please have your children at the Bellevue meeting hall at 7 AM Monday, August 15th.  We will return around 4-5 PM Thursday, Aug. 18th.
HOSPITALITY: Some groups travelling from distant places may want to take hospitality in Portland the night prior to camp.  Please indicate this need when you register, and we will coordinate arrangements with the church in Portland.
REGISTRATION:

 Please give your form and check (made out to the church in Bellevue) to Barb Vernon (425-673-9377) or Jasmine Jou (425-641-2787) by Lord’s Day, July 10.
WHAT TO BRING: Sleeping bag, pillow, pen to take notes
Clothing for 3½ days, and:

  • Pajamas
  • Swimming suit
  • Rubber thongs for showering
  • Rubber/water shoes for rocky beach
  • Jacket for campfire time

Personal items – soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, towel, etc.

Flashlight

Fishing pole if you want to fish (Trout pond, $3.00 per fish, you pay)

Spending money for camp store (optional, no more than $10.00)

6th Grade Retreat

As serving ones of the sixth graders, the goal of our care is that all the sixth graders would be definitely and individually saved and baptized by the time they move on to Junior High.  Our hope for this year is that they will have a definite realization and assurance of a personal relationship with the Lord that will increase and develop during the coming years.

In addition, we are burdened to coordinate with you to lead them into the crucial step of baptism, that they could have a testimony not only before God but also before men.  For this reason, we desire to have a sixth grade retreat as a culmination of the year’s fellowship concerning the truth and experience of God’s salvation.

Information regarding the retreat is as follows:

WHEN:

May 21-22, 2011

WHO:

All 6th grade boys and girls, their teachers, and other serving ones.

WHERE:

At Camp Lutherwood in Bellingham.  Phone number there is 1 360 734-7652.

FOR:

Singing, sharing from the Word, cabin time, canoeing and recreation.

TRANSPORTATION:

Leaving Saturday, May 21 at 10:00 from the meeting hall. Please bring a sack lunch.

BRING:

Sleeping bag, pillow (mattresses provided), toothbrush, flashlight, towel, warm jacket, pajamas, and clothing for the two day stay.

PRAYER:

Parents pray for this retreat, that the Word would be rich, clear, and digestible for the young ones.

COST:

Make a check out to the Church in Bellevue for $30.00 to pay for the lodging.  In addition, give your child $10 cash for gas.

Bible Camp 2011

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

DATES: July 18 – July 22nd, one week, Monday – Friday

TIME: 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. for all children

PLACE: The Bellevue meeting hall, 1835 Bellevue Way NE

AGES: Children going into 1st through 7th grades.

CONTENT: Bible lessons on Preserving the Good Land and the People from the books of Judges and Ruth, with crafts and activities.  The theme is “Serving God”.

MEALS: Please send a sack lunch with your children each day.

Please do not send coolers or lunch boxes (A completely disposable lunch!)  Snacks will be provided.

OTHER: All children must wear tennis shoes, no sandals or thongs.

CAMP FEE: $45.00 per child

(Make checks payable to the church in Bellevue.)

Please return the medical release form and payment by June 5, 2011 to Andy Wu.
